80246008 Fixing the Windows Update Error

Update Error Code The update error 80246008 is usually caused by errors that are caused by the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) or the Windows Event Log services.

SOLUTION

Press the Start menu to open the Run window. (You can use Windows + R key combination.)
In the Run window, type services.msc and press the OK button.
From the Services window that opens, we find the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) and the Windows Event Log services and perform the following operations separately within the two services.
Double-click on the service to open the properties section.
From the menu next to the Startup type option, we press the OK button, saying Automatic (Delayed Start).
You can continue the update process smoothly after turning the computer off and on by doing the same operation in the other related service.

Note: In order to perform the aforementioned operations, you must have Administrator privilege on the computer or enter Administrator name and password during service start.
